Julie Granger: Ranked Number 1 Category 3 Criterium Racer in Country!
Most of the attention this season for the Aaron’s Women’s team has been rightfully focused on the outstanding results turned in by Shannon Hutchison. Very quietly though, Julie Granger had her own great season in 2005. In only her second year racing on the road, Julie finished as the number one women’s Category 3 Criterium racer in the country (out of 339 ranked women)!
Under Shannon’s tutelage, Julie managed to accumulate some great results in 2005, including 2nd at the Category 3 Criterium Nationals in Downers Grove. Julie had several podium finishes at local races including second place at Bishop and she won the last race of the season at East Point.
Julie started with L5Flyers three years ago as an accomplished mountain biker, but had very little road experience. In addition to racing her bike, Julie served as the Aaron’s Women’s Team Coordinator and organized numerous community service events for the team. Julie’s steady development over the past few years is a testament to the opportunity Aaron’s/L5Flyers provides individuals looking for support in racing. Her unselfish dedication to the team has been greatly appreciated by all and she is well deserving of the honor of being number one. She will be working hard in the gym this winter and moving up to Category 2 for the 2006 season.
